Please don't push me away
Now is not the time to stay strong
I'm here, my arms open wide
Or to just sit in silent commune with you

No, I can't begin to fathom your pain
I can only offer the comfort you seek

Mom, stepdad, niece, great-niece
Now sister all gone. Taken away too soon
Trite words spoken, they are now at peace
Not helpful for you, but perhaps in future days

I only want to offer you some comfort and release

My family intact but yours tattered and torn
I grieve openly for they were my family too
Marriage brought new ones, way more than a few

Grief and mourning are not weakness' my dear
They only show the breadth and depth of your love
I'll wait and be by your side, always near
Faith, not your path, but I think of them above

Together in death, greeting one another again
Little solace for those left behind down here
Cry, rage, grieve, but eventually come and rest
I'll do my best to keep you safe and allay your fears

Return and take my comfort, my gifts from me
Simple love is all I offer; death can never change
that you and I will forever and always, be we
