I pray you, do not trample on my dreams.
Though you may only see this outer shell,
A frail thing of flesh; this outward reality,
Is of no greater substance than the air,
Masking the real truth that lies within
From the unperceptive gaze of the world,
Blinded by the harsh glare of common sense.
Outwardly I may be on the dread path
That leads to mortal decay and old age,
My limbs may now be clothed in sagging flesh,
Where in my youth there was beauty of form,
Tautly balanced muscles, lithe grace and poise,
And though my joints are stiff, and my knees groan
In protest each time, I rise from my chair,
To my inward mind, I am still that youth
Who rejoiced in unbounded energy,
Striding confident into the future,
Bold in manly strength and undimmed vigour.
My love, though you will one day share my fate,
And age will steal the lustre from your hair,
Your body prey to the ravages of time,
Which process none by will alone can halt,
In your soft beauty, I will still delight,
And tIme will not diminish my ardour
Nor extinguish the fire of my desire.
The blissful feel of your soft lips on mine
Will never lose its delicious savour
As our tongues entwine in sweet ecstasy,
And to lie in your arms is still my joy,
With your soft breasts pressed warm against my side,
Heart bound to heart in a tender embrace.
In the bright meadows of our secret love
We will forever run and play, dancing
By day and night in enchanted rapture,
United souls together ascending
To the summit of mutual passion.
This truth is sure that none can ever spoil,
We are forever destined to be one,
United in body, mind and spirit,
Our love is triumphant over death itself.
And so once more I humbly ask and pray
That you will never trample on my dreams,
For in them lies my only hope of joy,
And in your arms is my eternity.
