My muse

My muse

Looking inside yourself when maybe you shouldn't

Its a blue kinda day

Lost in that dark lonely place

The outside wears a smile while I cry from the inside

My muse rides me hard this morning

I fight the pain from that door that is opening, that place that whispers to me

It is no shade of grey

Words dance in my mind

My steps are slow, listening to that inner voice

First thought is to flee from this place where my memory's roam

Radio loud

My favorite song

Coffee strong

Cigarette burning in the ashtray

Slipping fast, its allure more then I can resist

Flashes, echos of a broken past

Standing in the half light, nothing is ever bright

My muse whispers of such delights in this evil place

Breathing deep

Hand on the knob

No rest till I step through

We have done this dance before, my muse and I

She takes my hand, I enter this no mans land

Nothing I can do, just ride the assault

A nightmare landscape

Deepest black

Broken dreams

Dashed hopes

Lost loves

A busted heart

Wrong choices from a distance past

All this a chaotic rhapsody in my head

A sweet rapture of pain

She takes my hand and leads the way

Yes it will be a long day
