Scatter me on the wind

Let me drift away

Across a world gone mad

Let me disappear into the void

Float across space

Let me burn up in the sun

Immolate me in fire

And let me be reborn

As something new

Something innocent

Take away the pain

That shrouds my heart

Take away the need

That fills my soul

Show me what it is to be brave

To live free

To wander and wonder

At all there is

And at all there will ever be

Let me see the world through new eyes

Through rose coloured lenses

Through eyes not jaded

Nor made tired by mediocrity

I want to see that world again

Fresh and wondrous and

Sparkling

Like sunlight on running water 

Like when I was a child

And everything was new and exciting

I want that feeling again

I want that world

But it just seems so far out of reach

So distant on a horizon that

Never draws any nearer

So scatter me on the wind

And let me drift away

Until I find my horizon

Once more...
