Snow devils swirl, creating many shapes, drifts form.
North winds blow, displacing all that is not attached.
Sculpture masking the landscape, beauty of the storm.

Branches swaying, grass laying flat against the ground.
Freezing everything in your path, a nasty, nasty, squall.
House rattles, creaks, groans, what a cold ghostly sound.

Jack Frost gathering on the inside of the window pane.
-40 centigrade thermometer shows, wind chill is more.
Sucking warmth from every living thing, causing pain.

Very fortunate, feeling glee, outside not having to venture.
Your wrath evident, bending, pushing, always relentless.
Talking, seeing, remembering times past, I did adventure.

Feeling sub-zero stinging my skin, cheeks red, burning fire.
Freezing nostrils shut, searing throat when mouth opened.
Tears form, freeze, unable to blink, images hard to acquire.

Suspended snow, swirling around, blinding, peppering face.
Feet, hands frozen, bones protruding through boot bottoms.
Ecstatic, able to watch in comfort, from a warm hiding place.
