It's not on television yet, but I look forward to Mike Flannigan's next project. The Fall of the House of Usher.
The Fall of the House of Usher is an upcoming horror drama miniseries created by Mike Flanagan. Based on the short story of the same name and other works by Edgar Allan Poe, it is set to premiere on Netflix.
Last night was catchup night on Youtube. Two episodes of SciShow (general coverage of all sciences), one of Scishow Space (astronomy and space travel), and one of PBS Eons (deep time and evolution).

I watched Three Pines on Amazon. I love Alfred and Molina, so I gave it a chance.
"A man investigates murders in Three Pines; he sees things that others do not: the light between the cracks, the mythic in the mundane, and discovers long-buried secrets and faces a few of his own ghosts."
It was well done, and I enjoyed the storylines. I hope there will be a second season.
Watching Sharp Objects with Amy Adams. I started it years ago and got bored because it was paced so slow. Giving it another chance. It IS slow, and she drinks an improbable amount of alcohol. But it's pretty good.

I think they did a good job with the cast. I have enjoyed many of her books. And this one was a good plot too. Nothing like a locked room to get your juices flowing.

I watched it a while ago and thought it was okay. The book is much more powerful. But I'll watch Amy Adams in anything.

I am always hesitant to watch something based on a book or books. But it had been some time since I had read any of her books. I hope they make another season.
I watched The Dropout.
"TV series that chronicles Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes' attempt to revolutionize the healthcare industry after dropping out of college and starting a technology company and her downfall."
I didn't know much about her. It was an interesting series.

I've just started watching The Last of Us. The first episode was okay. It just seems like another zombie spin-off. This time it's killer mushrooms.
I had the exact same thoughts. The idea of a fungus seemed interesting at first but it quickly turned into another, survive an event only to realize that the infected are a small part of the problem. Terrible human beings are the other. I'm not sure if I'll watch the next episode.

It's based on a videogame, rarely an auspicious start for originality. Interestingly, the reviews I have seen have been fairly positive. The fundamental problem is how long can you keep people being stalked by the living dead interesting. The people being terrible thing is more interesting to a lot of watchers than the zombies, I think.
I think the whole genre is kind of played out and was never overly fond of it to start with. I like Night of the Living Dead (the 1968 black and white B-movie that started the genre) and a few others have been interesting but overall, not my thing.

Just watched Season 1, Episode 1 of Star Trek: Next Generation. Wow, it looks almost as dated as the original series! Where has all that time gone? 😲
I think that if I was going to watch it again, I would skip season 1. Dated or not, it really took a couple seasons for that show to get up to speed. But then seasons 3-5 or 6 were the best Trek I have seen (didn't watch much of the later series).

I'm REALLY liking it. I think it's taking the zombie genre in a few new directions.

I watched the second episode of The Last of Us. I'll probably keep watching, but not sure how they are going to keep the storylines interesting and not just a copy of every other post-apocalyptic series.
On Netflix, I finished watching Inside Man with Stanly Tucci and David Tenant. It has an interesting premise, and it was only four episodes, so I didn't feel like a lost a big chunk of time. It held my attention and kept me guessing.
We’ve been watching The Peripheral. It’s a little intense so we have been watching one episode at a time. You have to pay attention closely. We tend to follow it up with episodes of Anthony Anderson’s To Tell the Truth which is lighthearted fluff and just my speed before bed.

I watched the first TV series version of Herriot's books back in the day, starring Christopher Timothy, Robert Hardy, and Peter Davison. It was mid-late 70s, I think? Also on PBS. Mom and I were fans of the books and enjoyed the series as well.
