My heart just isn't in it for some reason. I haven't completely bowed out but for me to put out a story in two days other than a micro is unheard of. I'm just too fussy with my edits. Sorry, folks. I'm actually considering a writing break from both sites.
Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?
Calico Cupid - Summer Love contest entry
The metal singer made Brenda an interesting offer, but was her interest in the music ... or him?

It’s that time again, you fabulous, creative people! I love spring and so I’m giving you a spring theme. Wide open. Spring brings rebirth. Spring brings storms and rain. Spring brings changes in nature. Spring brings festivals. Spring brings so many images to mind. If you wanna win, you gotta bring more spring into your story than “It was a warm spring day.” Got it?
Each of the two chosen winners will be given enough site coins to cash out for $50 each.
And unlike other challenges, SUBMIT your entries on this site! We want to bring in more readers and writers.
Post a link (or title) to your entry here, so my judge can find you.
Any category is open (except microfiction since it has a 100-word limit.). Story lengths 500 - 2500 words. I know word counter can be a little off once published, so you are on honor system. I’ll include your entry if it’s close.
No AI generated stories, please. There are telling signs and your entry will be ignored.
Stories must obey all site rules.
Please try to remember to put in author’s note on your story that you are an entry in the Spring is in the Air writing challenge.
I encourage you to read and comment on the other entries.
The challenge runs thru midnight Eastern Daylight Time on May 10th.
Let’s have fun!
I'm late to the party, but I'm hoping to still have a story to submit. Fingers crossed.

Reminder:
Challenge closes May 10th, Sunday night, at midnight Eastern Daylight Time.
So… if entering you must submit your entry and post here that you submitted before midnight EDT on Sunday. Your story does not have to be published by then. I’ll just know to be on the lookout. I will post a cutoff here at midnight and any stories posted as submitted below my post will not be considered.
I’ve enjoyed the stories. My judge tells me it’s very close between you all.
And thanks to your judge, WG, and especially to YOU for proposing and hosting this competition!
To put it simply: You da BEST!

By LinaDaSilva_25
When Aphrodite breathes life into Pygmalion’s marble masterpiece, Galatea awakens not only to love, but to the fragile, blooming truth that a woman’s heart cannot be sculpted into possession.

Writers, my judge just sent me the winners! He’d been keeping up with reading as stories published. He said it was very close between all the entries. Each had their own appeal, but two lingered in his mind a bit longer.
Congratulations to AAnna and TheGardener for their winning entries!

Ah, crap. Missed the deadline. Sorry WG. I guess my anti-McRaunchies, Ain’t No Spring McChicken, will need to hatch another day.
Congrats to the winners. I don’t read comp stories until I’ve submitted mine. So, I’ve not read yours… but I will shortly.
Thanks again for spearheading this comp, Kimmie!
Yay AAnna and TheGardener!! Congratulations. And thank you WG for doing these. Breathes a bit of life into the place.
