She is resting in the master bedroom. It has been a long day.
They are all long days now.
The medicines help. They do.
They go away.
She stays, as do I.
Tomorrow will be like today.

The medicines will help.
Then they will go away.
And we will stay
Together
As one,
One
More
Day.

I sit alone in the dining room,
At the table we have seldom shared.
A tray has most often sufficed.
It did tonight
On her bed.

Her Master bed,
For she
Is
The
Master.

We play roles in this game of life.
Hers is the little lost lamb
Silently crying
In the
Night.

Mine is the shepherd
Searching and finding,
Giving succor
To the
One
In
Need
Of my strength.

Our lives are good, they are, they are.
We are happy, we are, we are.
The days pass slowly
And we
Delight
In
The
Living.

It is good. We travel. We move about the country.
With the medicines, that work, then don't work,
So we stop, and we rest
As we will
For the
Rest
Of
Our Lives.

She has had many regrets,
That she cannot work,
That she cannot share,
That she cannot love
As she
Did
Before.

Before
The
Fall.

Before
It
All
Came apart.

I say to hell with regrets.
I have none.
I will have none.
I will have none of it.

I will carry on.
And we will carry on.
As we have,
As we shall,
As our wills
Allow us
The Courage.

Hers and mine.
Ours
Together
Forever
Without
Need
Of
Regrets.

Only love,
Only the love,
Only the great and lasting love
That carries us over the threshold of eternity.
