The Door That Was Closed

The Door That Was Closed

“You know my heart is Breaking,”

“Crying, it hurts, please stop.” she said.

I realized at that point,

That is the farthest thing from the truth.

Breaking is bad, nothing bad is here;

Just us, Just the truth, Just finding it.

It is the area that has been locked away;

Shut so that you can protect it.

I found the key,

You didn’t even know it existed,

You forgot about it,

You just made you heart smaller,

Never knowing it was missing.

Now like door,

That has been closed for ages;

It needs care.

Care to maintain.

Care to protect.

Care to cherish.

Like a precious metal,

You have trusted me with.

You are scared,

I understand.

I will protect it.

I will protect you.

This door made new,

And I will be the guard for you.
