Earlier years of daytime soap operas
General hospital
Santa Barbara
As the world turns
All my children
Ryan's hope

My mother was a big soap watcher before she went back to work (and even after since she only went back part-time). I watched General Hospital for a while when the writers went nuts and did a weird Bond-movie plot about a sinister villain trying to freeze the city and a spy for the "World Security Bureau" trying to stop him.

A mighty warrior meets an unusual challenger. The Last Challenge of Jadek Prynn.

Wow. How to answer this? So many. I’ll start with a few.

Six Feet Under. Best series finale of all time. Still makes me sob.

Game of Thrones. Even with the last season show runner screw ups.

CSI. The original. I became far too invested.

Justified. Breaking Bad. What About Saul? Happy Days. Laverne and Shirley. How I Met Your Mother. Scrubs. X-Files. NOVA. Boardwalk Empire. The Wire. Ray Donovan. Succession. Ozark.

I’m sure there are so many more… just can’t think of them now

Edit: Madmen, Better Call Saul, Corner Gas (visited Dog River this year on a motorcycle trip), Family Guy

Edit 2: Killing Eve, The West Wing (my God, how’d I forget my second favourite show of all time?)

Iconoclastically incorrigible or just a silly dumb ass...

Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek

In both cases, the operative question is, which one?

I have never watched nuBSG all the way through so can't really put it on and the old series had too many clunkers (e.g. their string of episodes that were just ripoffs of old movie plots) to be more than a nostalgic favorite at this point. Though the few good episodes are really good and the cast was pretty solid.

Star Trek, I am fond of the original but TNG and DS9 are probably the two best in terms of story and writing.
