It is a glitch leftover from the most recent update.

Quote by Mendalla

When I go to storiesspace.com (or that other place as well) instead of the home page, I get the attached image. I can get to the proper homepage by clicking on the logo. However, if I login, I don't get the proper page (home or forum depending on where I am) until I refresh. I initially thought it was a mobile issue but I see that I am having it on my desktop, too. I use Chrome on both. Desktop is Windows 10, mobile is Android 13.

Also, Remember Me seems to have stopped working once again. I am having to login on every visit.

I've reported this and the Remember Me no longer working so thankfully the techs are already looking into it.

So did I. Now I don’t have it anymore (at least on the red site) and I can’t make new topics.

I've sent you a message.

Quote by TheParisianDancer

I definitely DID buy a gold membership. I have the badge! Lol

I've just sent you a PM.

Quote by JustAnotherSapphic

I’ve been experiencing ‘page not found’ errors all day both here and on the red site.

I’d have reported it there, too, but I can’t create new topics unless I renew my gold membership (unless that’s also a bug?).

Hello. There are a few behind the scene updates going on so hopefully it will be sorted across the board by tomorrow.

You are not the first person to mention the gold membership.

Quote by TheParisianDancer

I can't recall when I bought the gold membership, can anyone help me find that out please?

Hello. Hope this helps!

You all never cease to amaze me. The talent on this site is top-notch and I’m proud to be a part of it!

(But I still haven't forgiven Ping for his winning story in the 2021 Halloween comp. That one even freaked me out.😨)

I agree. I love spooky/scary stories and Ping's was great.

I think I have tried every conceivable Copying, Uploading , gliding and I still cannot make a connection. I had no bother initially in just plain copying to Word page before I started writing. But that simple technique didn't work and neither has anything else.

If you try what Mendalla has posted and it still doesn't work please just submit your story and I'll try to attach the photo of your choice.

The answer to my plaintive request 6 hours ago was --NO MERCY!

Could you not upload it? When I logged on and saw the question your story wasn't in the queue.

Am I allowed to be a smug little git and say that I hit exactly 1,000 words on my first attempt? Thought not...

I think that is worthy of some smugness.

Question - I wrote the story, it says exactly 1000 words on my document but when I copy it into the submission box it is over 1000 and I am confused how that happened? Is there some glitch? or is it including the title and authors note into the word count as well? And if so, does our exact word count include the authors note and all that too, or is it just the story itself?

As Mendalla said, we know about it but we have ways of checking. As long as you have 1000 it will go through.

I know the advertising photo is different from the two that are posted. Please know that the two photos posted will not change. Thanks!

Very cool comp! Question: Is word max 1,000 or word count must equal 1,000?

The word count must equal 1000. smile

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

For this contest, we wanted to add a bit of a challenge for some of you. As the title suggests, the word count will be one thousand. Allow one of the photos provided to spark your imagination! You are allowed to interpret this however you wish because we want to know what these pictures bring to mind. All categories are available except for Mico-Fiction, Plays, Poetry, and Songs.

Quick Facts:

The word count is one thousand.

Please include the photo you choose as your cover photo. If you’d like to add your title or name to it that is fine.

You cannot submit already published work.

All Stories Space rules and guidelines apply.dWQrLyL98ufxEN68

Yes, we know the word count is sometimes off but we have ways of checking so please rest assured if you see one a little over it has been checked and it’s only our counter being fickle.

The ending date is December 30, 2022

The winners will be announced on January 6, 2023

Prizes:

First: $150 (USD)

Second: $75 (USD

Third: $50 (USD)

Have fun and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

I've just finished a nanowrimo novel and would love to post instalments and obtain feedback. However, I'm concerned about first publishing rights. It's nowhere near publishing standard as yet but I'm hoping it may (just about!) be in the future. The query is, would posting it on this site mean I have lost my first publishing rights?

You find yourself in a cleft stick with this. You want to be read but can't be because of the first publishing rights issue. A tad frustrating and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that!

Grateful for any advice. Apologies if there's a place for this somewhere else on the site - I searched but couldn't find anything.

Hello. You keep the rights to your stories/poems/etc. If you post it here and would like to remove them at any time to publish them you can. We won't question it. Other people, myself included, have some stories here that are also posted somewhere else.

I believe and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but most publishers want your story off of free sites before it is published. Other than that, please feel free to share.

Why are some things yellow?

We are in the process of updating a few things, once it all goes through I'll have a better response. It's nothing bad though!
