About

Updated: 01-09-15
My name is Liz, I'm twenty-one years old and an aspiring writer.
I am currently at university studying for an English degree. My hope is that this will enable me to take my passion for writing to the next level and one day become a published author.

EXTRAS:
• I speak French and Spanish. In my opinion French is the most beautiful language, so flowing and sensual. The language of love
• At the age of 12 I started playing the Violin, but for the past 4 years I have been playing the guitar, both electric and acoustic.
• I am a photographer. I'm just completing my Photography A-Level at the moment but have been interested in the art form since I was little.
• As is probably inevitable with someone who spends so much time in front of a computer, I am a geek. I admit it!
I got into Web & Graphics Design a while ago and help out a lot of people with design work now.
• I love art and architecture. I am particularly taken with several art movements specifically; those being Italian Renaissance, Pre-Raphaelite and Impressionism. A couple of my favourite pieces are 'Cafe Terrace at Night' Vincent van Gogh (1888) and 'San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk' Claude Monet (1908).
• One of my favourite quotes is 'Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero' it is a phrase from the Latin poem by Horace which roughly translates to "Seize the Day, putting as little trust as possible in the next." I believe that these are words that everyone should aspire to; life is short and you never know what tomorrow will bring.

I hope you enjoy my stories and would love to hear any feedback you wish to give.

Stay safe and stay happy.

Interests
I am a huge lover of music, (of many different genre's) and am rarely seen without a pair of earphones and my iPod.
The phrase 'Party Animal' comes to mind, but really I'm just a very social person.
I am equally happy cutting up the dance floor in a club, or snuggled under a blanket on the beach gazing at the stars.
I love to read, to write and enjoy anything that gets your creative juices flowing.

Favorite Books
I read a lot of fiction and enjoy any novels with dark plots and complex character studies.
Other interests include legal fiction (John Grisham), horror/thriller (Stephen King), human history and mythology.

Favorite Authors
Oh god! So many to choose from. I couldn't possibly.

Favorite Movies
My favourite movie at the moment is Django Unchained, an excellent film.
I am a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino, he is a fantastic writer/director and I can't get enough of the cult classic genre. Pulp Fiction is excellent.
Gangster films of course! Godfather I & II, Goodfellas, Casino.
I am also a fan of horror movies believe it or not - probably stems from my dad's passion for them.
Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves; you name it, they're all good in my book

Favorite Music
Rock, R&B, Soul, Motown; just about everything.
Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Four Tops, Ray Charles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Eagles, Bob Marley, AC/DC, Moby, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Dead By Sunrise, Red, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Adele, Alex Clare, Foo Fighters, Hoobastank, Muse, Oasis, Paramore, Pendulum, 30 Seconds To Mars, David Guetta, Paul Oakenfold, Professor Green...

Santa Shot My Dad

A jolly old fat man with a nickel-plated nine.

"It's not what it looks like," he said as I walked in. Ever since I was little I’d wanted to meet Santa, but silently sneaking down the stairs on Christmas Eve to find him standing over my father’s body was not how I’d pictured it. "You’ve kill my dad!" I...

When

When tears aren’t enough anymore.

When you can’t eat, can't sleep, can't breathe without them. When your chest tightens up  and it feels as if a hand has reached up inside your chest, squeezing your heart between cold fingers.  When your eyes sting  because there’s no more tears left to c...

Nosferatu Immortalis

Bathed in morning’s pure glorious light, go forth and find your peace.

On a cold dark night a figure stood, Pale face shrouded in darkened hood, Statuesque, as though carved from wood; No beauty held the night sky. As pale as soapstone, his damp cold skin, No breath to see nor heartbeat within, A tear rolled down from cheek...
